Descendant Spotlight: Conrado
At Descendant, we aim to partner with suppliers that uphold our brand standards and align with our values; brands who are passionate about progress and a responsible future. Lucky for us (and you!), Conrado checks all of our boxes.
Conrado was founded by fashion designer Angela Sison. Sison was influenced by the fashion industry at an early age from spending much of her time at her family's textile factory in the Philippines. She took note of the effortless attire of the beach-goers, who were often wearing the same clothes to go from the city to the sand. This city-to-beach lifestyle inspired Sison to create transitional pieces with a similar feel. A style that she describes as "New England meets the Tropics with the effortless California vibe".
Made with a purpose to repurpose, Conrado is dedicated to producing as sustainably as possible by using only deadstock materials in their process. Using their repurposed fabrics, thread, buttons, and trims, Conrado is designed and manufactured with the environment in mind. Their limited quantity pieces are designed on Martha's Vineyard, and ethically produced by artisans in the Philippines at Sison’s mother's small 40-year-old family workshop.
